The TradingView webhook URL, start to finish

The webhook URL is the whole integration — one address that TradingView calls when an alert fires. Here is where to get yours, where it goes in TradingView, and why it never changes once created.

A TradingView webhook URL is the address TradingView sends an alert to when it fires. In AlertSync, each webhook has its own URL of the form https://alertsync.in/hook/your-unique-id. You copy it from the webhook's card, open a TradingView alert, expand the Notifications section, tick Webhook URL, and paste it in. The id is random and unique to that webhook and never changes, so you can add or swap Telegram destinations behind it without ever editing the alert again. Because anyone with the URL can post to your destinations, treat it as a secret.

Step by step

  1. 1

Create a webhook to generate the URL

In AlertSync, click New Webhook, give it a name and pick at least one Telegram destination. On save, AlertSync mints a unique URL for it — you do not choose or type the URL yourself, it is generated so that only your TradingView alerts can reach your chats.

  2. 2

Copy the URL from the webhook card

Each webhook card shows its address as https://alertsync.in/hook/ followed by a random id, with a Copy button beside it. Copy the whole thing. The id is the only part that identifies your webhook, so copy it exactly — a single wrong character points the alert at nothing.

  3. 3

Paste it into the TradingView alert

In TradingView, open or create an alert, expand the Notifications section, tick Webhook URL and paste the AlertSync URL into the field. Note that TradingView only enables the Webhook URL option on its paid plans — that restriction is theirs and applies to every relay, not just AlertSync.

  4. 4

    Save, and leave it alone

Save the alert. That is the last time you need to touch the URL. Because it never changes, you can later add destinations, rename the webhook or pause it from the AlertSync dashboard and the TradingView alert keeps working untouched.

What the parts of the URL mean

The address has two meaningful parts: the host, alertsync.in/hook/, which is the endpoint that listens for incoming alerts, and the id after it, which is unique to one webhook. AlertSync looks the id up, finds the destinations you attached, and delivers the message to each one. There are no query parameters, tokens or headers for you to set — the id carries everything.

Keep the URL private

The URL is effectively a write key to your Telegram destinations: whoever holds it can trigger a message to them. So do not post it in a public TradingView script, a screenshot or a shared chat. If a URL is ever exposed, delete that webhook and create a new one — the new webhook gets a fresh id, and the old address stops resolving immediately.

  • Never paste the URL into a public Pine Script or a shared screenshot.
  • If it leaks, delete the webhook and make a new one — the id regenerates.
  • The URL identifies the webhook, not your account, so revoking one never affects the others.

One URL, many destinations

A single webhook URL can deliver to several Telegram chats at once on a paid plan — 2 destinations on Starter, 5 on Pro, unlimited on Business. You manage that set from the webhook's detail panel without the URL ever changing, so TradingView never needs to know how many places the alert actually reaches.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my TradingView webhook URL?

On your AlertSync dashboard. Every webhook card shows its own https://alertsync.in/hook/ address with a Copy button. You do not create the URL in TradingView — AlertSync generates it, and you paste it into TradingView's alert settings.

Does the webhook URL ever change?

No. The id is fixed for the life of the webhook. You can rename the webhook, add or remove destinations, pause it and resume it, and the URL stays exactly the same, so the TradingView alert never needs editing. The only way to get a new URL is to delete the webhook and create another.

Why is the Webhook URL option greyed out in TradingView?

TradingView restricts webhook notifications to its paid subscription tiers. If the Webhook URL checkbox is disabled, it is because the TradingView plan does not include it — that is a TradingView limitation and it applies no matter which relay you use. Everything on the AlertSync side works regardless, including the Free plan.

Is it safe to share my webhook URL?

No. Anyone who has the URL can post to the Telegram destinations attached to it. Treat it like a password: keep it out of public scripts and screenshots. If it is ever exposed, delete the webhook and create a new one with a fresh id.

Can I use the same URL in more than one TradingView alert?

Yes. A webhook URL is just an endpoint, so you can paste the same one into several alerts if you want them all to reach the same destinations. Each firing counts as one alert against your monthly quota. If you would rather keep alerts separate — different names or different chats — create a webhook per alert instead.
